About Will Starlink Work
One question, surveyed from every side: will Starlink work at this particular house? Sky, trees, roof, mount, HOA and landlord, in steps you can walk through in your own yard.
An independent site survey, before you buy
Will Starlink Work stands apart from Starlink and SpaceX: neither company runs it, reviews its pages or pays for them. It is written for people who don’t have Starlink yet and want to know, before spending anything, whether a dish at their address will see enough sky and whether they’re allowed to put one up.
A dish either has open sky or it doesn’t, so the site works like a surveyor’s checklist: look up from the spot, measure what’s in the way, pick a mount that clears it, then check the rules for that roof or yard. Two tools do the measuring with you: the fit check and the tree and sky angle calculator. Both run in your browser and never ask for an address.
Where each number comes from
- Every Starlink spec, price, rule and policy on the site lives in one fact file. Each entry keeps Starlink’s exact words, their source page and the day they were read.
- Pages print the number from that file; nobody types a Starlink figure by hand. A page’s “Starlink facts re-read” date is the oldest reading among the facts it uses.
- The build refuses to publish once a current fact goes 30 days without a fresh reading, so a stale figure can’t sit online unnoticed.
- Where Starlink doesn’t say something, the page says so. Our own geometry and judgment are labelled “our reading” or “rule of thumb”.
- The FCC dish rule (OTARD) is quoted from the Code of Federal Regulations, and those pages are general information, not legal advice.
The last full pass over Starlink’s support and order pages was on Nov 3, 2026. More detail: our fact rules.
How the site earns
Some buttons are marked as a referral link. Anyone new to Starlink in the US who signs up on starlink.com through one gets account credit from Starlink, and this site earns a matching reward. That is the only income: no ads, no paid placements, and no installer, store or mount maker pays to appear. The buttons only show on pages that help you decide, never on the rules hub, the legal pages or the pages for people who already own a dish, and the fit check tells you to wait when your sky looks too blocked. The full rules are on how this site is paid.
How corrections work
There is no inbox or contact form. Mistakes are caught by re-reading every source on that 30-day cycle and whenever Starlink rewrites a help article we cite. When a page was wrong, we fix it, move its date and record the change on the corrections log.
Who owns the names
