Fact rules

Short version: Starlink’s own pages first, the federal rule text for legal questions, a date on everything, and plain labels when something isn’t confirmed.

One fact file

Every Starlink spec, price, rule and policy on this site is stored once, with Starlink’s exact wording, the page it came from and the date we read it. Pages pull from that file; nobody types a Starlink number into a page by hand. The last full check was on Nov 3, 2026.

Which sources count

  1. Starlink’s own text: its help center, specifications pages, legal documents and order pages, read without an account and without entering an address.
  2. Federal rules: the FCC’s Over-the-Air Reception Devices rule, quoted from the official electronic Code of Federal Regulations, and the FCC’s own consumer guidance.
  3. Press and community reports: only when Starlink hasn’t said something itself, always labeled with the outlet and date.

If Starlink is silent on a point, the page says “Starlink doesn’t publish this” and leaves the gap empty. Our own reasoning (for example, the geometry in the sky angle calculator) is labeled as ours.

How often we re-check

Starlink edits its help articles and prices often, sometimes without notice. We re-read every source at least every 30 days and update the “checked” date on a page only when its facts were actually re-checked.

How the tools work

The fit check and the sky angle calculator run entirely in your browser. Neither one asks where you live or who you are, and your answers stay on your device. They give a cautious first answer; the final word for your exact spot is a scan with the Starlink app.

Writing and review

Drafts may be prepared with the help of AI writing tools. Every fact, title, description and image caption is checked against the source listed on the page before it’s published, and each page is reviewed before it goes live.

Photos and diagrams

Photos are used under their licenses (Unsplash License, public domain or Creative Commons) and credited on the credits page. Diagrams are our own drawings. We don’t use Starlink’s logos or marketing images.
